Option 1
4n/5days of Virachey national park jungle trekking “Olalai bamboo rafting adventures”!
Level: Medium hard
First day:
We leave Banlung city at 8:30 a.m. for the northern (Sesan) river, about a 1-hour drive, then cross by ferry boat and continue on motorbikes to the minority village where our trek starts: At the beginning, we walk for 1 and a half hours along the forest and minority farm houses to the Virachey National Park border and walk across the Lalai River, which has 35 meters of width. After lunch, we have to go on for 3 hours more so that we arrive at the serene waterfall where we can swim and also where our camping spot is.
After coffee and breakfast, we will hike for three hours deeper into a primary forest to a small river where we will eat lunch. Our English-speaking guide will talk to you about the jungle and wildlife if we locate it during our active trip, and we will learn about plans and beneficial trees. We’ll continue our hike for other two to three hours to another little river to set up our second campsite after our lunch break. You can go on a night hike at around 7 p.m. to witness animals like sluggish lorises, enormous owls, butterflies, and other nighttime jungle nocturnal species.
After breakfast, we will trek in the deep and dense jungle in the middle part of Virakchey National Park, approximately 3 hours to reach another small stream near the mountains. We will have lunch there. During this trekking activity, we will look for some vegetables to cook and eat. Our English-speaking guide will explain to you about the jungle and wildlife if we have seen them. After lunch break, we will trek 2-3 hours more to camp near the small waterfall; almost no one has been there!
After having breakfast and coffee, we continue on our adventure trails for 3 more hours, this part is a bit difficult because of less people been there ,some places has no trail so we need to cut through the jungle to walk, direct to the “Lalai river bank”for lunch and building a bamboo raft. When we finished our bamboo raft if we still have time we can rafting down to camp somewhere else near by the river and fishing.
Fifth day:
Early morning waking up!, when we finished our breakfast it is a good time to go on for a long raft down, birds watching , sometimes mongkey , wild pig , buffalo, come for swim and dink water etc..we ‘ll rafting about 3-4 hours until we get to the ethnic minority family,so we can having lunch with them!. We will climb a mountain to see the panoramic view of the whole of Virakchey National Park and learning how to make a bamboo-cup before we taking our bikes back, this tour will be finished at 4-5p.m.
