3 day trek options

Option 1
2n/3days of Virachey national park jungle trekking “Olalai bamboo rafting adventures”!
Level: Medium hard

First day:
We leave Banlung city at 8:30 a.m. for the northern (Sesan) river, about a 1-hour drive, then cross by ferry boat and continue on motorbikes to the minority village where our trek starts: At the beginning, we walk for 1 and a half hours along the forest and minority farm houses to the Virachey National Park border and walk across the Lalai River, which has 35 meters of width. After lunch, we have to go on for 3 hours more so that we arrive at the serene waterfall where we can swim and also where our camping spot is. At night, around 7 p.m., we will do a night trek for fun and different kinds of night experiences before going to bed.

Second day:
After breakfast and coffee, we will trek in a real primary forest for 3 hours more. During this activity trek, we will learn about plans and useful trees, and our English-speaking guide will explain to you about the jungle and wildlife if we are found,i.e., we’ll trek to the same Lalai river but a deeper spot, after having lunch and swimming, we‘ll build a bamboo raft together and floating down for 3 hours direct to the minority family where our second night camp is, have a meal with them and drink their traditional rice wine, and our English-speaking guide will explain about their lives and cultures.Third day:

After breakfast and coffee, we will climb a mountain to see the panoramic view of the whole National Park and learn how to make a bamboo cup before we are rafting back down directly to our motorcycle to return to Banlung City, we are supposed to arrive at 4-5 p.m.

•Note: Please let us know if you want to do two nights of camping or one night of camping followed by another night of homestay.

If you do another night of camping, we will get deeper into the denser jungle and can do some fishing. On the third day, but we have to leave earlier because we are far from the city. After rafting for 3–4 hours, we have lunch with a minority family, and after the meal, we trek back directly to our motorbikes. We are supposed to get back to Banlung City at 5 p.m.

Option 2
Virakchey NP. Community mountain trek
3 days trek
Level: Medium hard

First day
Departing from Banlung and venturing north by boat along the Sesan River, we dock the boat 45 minutes later and begin hiking for 3 hours through moderately difficult hilly jungle to arrive at a 40-meter-tall waterfall, Riyus, where our animist Kachok guides offer whiskey and other sacrifices to the spirit of the waterfall. We will set up camp there, but if you want to hike a few further miles, our knowledgeable ranger can accompany you.

Second day:
In the morning, after coffee served in a bamboo cup and a breakfast provided by the guides, we continue hiking for about 3 more hours through the untouched jungle to the lovely running stream, where it is easy to rinse our sweets off! After lunch, you can decide to do another camping night near another beautiful river in the middle of Virakchey Park or a village homestay instead. If you choose to do another camping night, we will walk for 3 more hours to get there, but if you choose to do the homestay, we have to walk for 4 more hours on different trails.

Third day:
After breakfast and coffee from the second camping trip to the village for our last lunch, we trek for about 6 hours to get there, but if we participate in a homestay, we will spend the night with a few minority families on their farm and just walk for about 3 hours, stopping to meet local families along the way. Visit a we larger minority village, including the big Kachok community and their ancient cemetery, before returning back to town.

“Kospeak” is a remote tribe consisting of two villages that is very similar to the much larger Kreung people. We will stay with the family for the night if you would like, experiencing the animist culture of the tribal people of Kachock. At the end of both choices, we will still be able to visit their village and their ancient cemetery before we take the boat back.

•Note: Please let us know if you want to do two nights of camping or one night of camping followed by another night of homestay.

Option 3
2 night 3 days “Virachey new explore wildlife trek/non touristic option”!
Level: Medium hard

First day:
Departure at 8: 30a.m. out of Banlung city to the Sesan river by motorbike Tuk-Tuk or car, depending on the group, is a 1 hour drive, Take a ferry to get across, and then ride a motorcycle 20 minutes further get to the Kavet indigenous village where we start our trek:

At the beginning, we walk along mixed forest plantations of minority farming, taking a break to look for a tarantula to see how they live in the ground. After this two-hour walk, we get into the Virachey National Park jungle area, where our indigenous ranger will lead us for three hours across dense bamboo jungle toward the small river where our camp is. A beautiful river flows through the giant trees, with large stones and natural pools where many nighttime creatures and animals can be seen. In the evening, we will enjoy a small drink together before heading to bed.

Second day:
When our alarm clock goes off, we will follow our expert rather than look for a gibbon singing in the high canopy and other animals as they do more activities in the morning, and if we were lucky, we could see them returning to camp for breakfast after their morning sounds are complete. After breakfast, we will go on a 5-hour trip where we won’t move quickly or in a rush because the goal of this kind of activity hike is to learn about trees and plants and seek for animals. We’ll eat lunch by a little river and spend the night by a different stream surrounded by huge trees.

Third day:
If we still don’t see any gibbons, we’ll take another morning stroll. After breakfast and coffee, we will hike back for four hours over a different trail to the same village for our final meal with our knowledgeable indigenous ranger family and to bid them farewell. As a result, we will return to Banlung City between four and five in the afternoon.
