4 day trek options

Option 1
3n/4days of Virachey national park jungle trekking “Olalai bamboo rafting adventures”!
Level: Medium hard

Highlight:
.Beautiful panoramic view
.Submerge in the evergreen semi-forest
.Amazing a bamboo raft on Olalai river.
.Enjoy swimming in a very nice river, creek, and waterfall.
.Jungle camping, lush and dense jungle.
.Engaging indigenous community

DAY ONE:
Assemble at our office at 8:10am and leave Banlung at 8:30am towards Voensai district. There are various ethnic minority people living around this area. So when we arrive there, we can have a look at their busy small market; the earlier, the more vibrant and busier. Taking the ferry boat to cross to another side and driving on 20mn to the minority village. When we get to Kavet community village called “Rouk” village, this is the starting point of the trek, so the guide and ranger will carry most of the stuff, like food and some water, while visitors help to carry their own and some extra things, like each hammock and three bottles of big water.
We trek through jungle patches and some old abandoned nomadic farms of these tribal people and reach the jungle border around noon, where we break for lunch.
The trek in the main jungle is about four hours on this first day. First hour: Enjoy trekking in the vast bamboo forest!
Second-forth hour: Climb up the mountain and trek in the many different sorts of giant trees. A beautiful panoramic view passes along the trek towards the camp site.
The shelter is settled near a stream; if there is enough water, you can enjoy a refreshing swim while the guide and ranger prepare dinner on the campfire.
Enjoy the dinner near the campfire. Afterwards, by the candles, the guide will share stories until bedtime.

DAY TWO:
There are more gibbons in the dry season to wake us up with their social or mating calls, but if they are not around, there is always the usual orchestra of birds and mammals singing.
At approximately 7:00 a.m., we get up for breakfast while the guide and ranger untie the hammocks to prepare for trekking.
Day 2 trek involves more adventure and climbing the mountain; we could spot some wildlife if we are lucky (like monkeys, black bears, giant hornbills, etc.).
The trek is approximately three hours in the morning, then we get to a small steam where everybody can enjoy our lunch.
After the meal, we continue trekking for 2 hours to the north-west to another serene waterfall for the second night of camping. We dine on the nice stone field with a lovely bamboo fire.
At 7:00 p.m., everybody, armed with only a head torch, goes out for a night trek! It is very interesting and a bit scary. There is a much higher chance to see wildlife as many animals are nocturnal, including Loris, jungle cats, tiger cats, reptiles, night birds, etc.

DAY THREE:
After breakfast and coffee, we will trek in a real primary forest for 3 hours more. During this activity trek, we will learn about plans and useful trees, and our English-speaking guide will explain to you about the jungle and wildlife if we are found,i.e., we’ll trek to the same Lalai river but a deeper spot, after having lunch and swimming, we‘ll build a bamboo raft together and floating down for 3 hours direct to the minority family where our third night camp is, have a meal with them and drink their traditional rice wine, and our English-speaking guide will explain about their lives and cultures.

DAY FOUR:
After breakfast and coffee, we will climb a mountain to see the panoramic view of the whole National Park and learn how to make a bamboo cup before we are rafting back down directly to our motorcycle to return to Banlung City, where we are supposed to arrive at 4-5 p.m.

•Note: Please let us know if you want to do all three nights of camping or two night of camping followed by another night of homestay.

If you do another night of camping, we will get deeper into the denser jungle and can do some fishing. On the fourth day, we have to leave earlier because we are far from the city. After rafting for 3–4 hours, we have lunch with a minority family, and after the meal, we trek back directly to our motorbikes. We are supposed to get back to Banlung City at 5 p.m.

Option 2
Virakchey NP. Community mountain trek
4 days trek
Level: Medium hard

First day:
Departing from Banlung and venturing north by boat along the Sesan River, we dock the boat 45 minutes later and begin hiking for 3 hours through moderately difficult hilly jungle to arrive at a 40-meter-tall waterfall, Riyus, where our animist Kachok guides offer whiskey and other sacrifices to the spirit of the waterfall. We will set up camp there, but if you want to hike a few further miles, our knowledgeable ranger can accompany you.

Second day:
On the second day, which involves a long trek through deep and dense jungle’s pathways, our English-speaking guide and an indigenous expert ranger will show you about the benefits of the plants that we may use and eat. After breakfast, we will travel and hike into the Virakchey National Park area for six hours. We’ll have lunch by the little river, then camp by the another non touristic waterfall.

Third day
After breakfast, we will trek for an additional 6 hours to reach our destination, the “O’Nang Kray” river. The trail is a little challenging because there aren’t many people walking at some points, so we must gradually create new trails to get there. Our lunch will be in the middle of the day near a small stream between the second campsite and the “O Nang Kray” river. Our final campsite is a gorgeous big river that is suitable for swimming and fishing.Around 7 o’clock at night, you can go on a night hike to try to spot wildlife like sluggish lorises, huge owls, butterflies, and other critters that come out of the jungle at night.

Fourth day:
After having coffee and breakfast at the third campground, we will hike is still a bit far for 5-6 hours to the village, where we will have our final meal with the native people and visit their town before taking a boat back. As a result, our tour will be over by 4-5 p.m.
